For the past few days I’ve been ignoring the National Post’s daily obsession with their Hillary the Magnificent and The Great Obama. But today marks the first time to my knowledge that they featured a picture in one of their “Race for the White House” page banners of not just one or both of the Democratic contenders, but also the Republican. Yes John McCain is depicted almost as though there’s also a Republican in the race.
This is astonishing.
For many of you, this will be the first time you’ve seen a photo of Republican John McCain without an accompanying story about how “old” he is and how “untrustworthy” he is, in the National Post—or perhaps any of the liberals’ media.
I don’t discount the possibility that this was simply an error, or some sort of a boo-boo perpetrated by a newbie “journalist” apprentice—clearly non-union—at the NP.
The other possibility is that even the National Post is slowly beginning to recognize the inherent possibility of embarrassment in so pathologically aligning itself politically and editorially with their incessant fawning over those two liberal Democrats, both of whom are irreducibly linked to the same party which Eliot Spitzer and Bill Clinton and Bill McGreevey are linked. Nah. Just kidding.
In any case, soak it in.
