As I promised I’d do last weekend, I’ve got a new “virtual dedicated” server ready to go, which should help make this site speedier and more reliable. But now the hard part: migrating everything over to it. Because it’s a whole new machine, I have to set it up from scratch (web server, my domains, DNS,… everything), then backup copy all the data from the old machine and of course load up all the data on the new machine. It’s gigabytes worth (I have more than one web site on my server but PTBC alone is hundreds of megabytes).
As I said on Sunday I may sound (to some of you) like I know what I’m talking about, but really I’m just like Obama, Dion, or Layton—I just sound like I know what I’m talking about… the difference being that I won’t raise your taxes while I fumble around like a total doofus figuring things out and experimenting with theories.
My blogging activity may be spottier than usual this week.
