New Crichton novel helps debunk the slick global warming dogma

Not that I pay more attention to a novelist than to the thousands of environmental scientists which the media never tells you about who disagree with the Kyoto accord and the baloney “science”—which reads more like political science— surrounding the current discussions on global warming, but here’s some more heat for the huge leftist/environmentalist industry to fret over, and for the liberal media to start attacking as nonsense.

Famous novelist and TV writer and creator Michael Crichton says why he pours cold water on global warming in his new novel called “State of Fear” (HarperCollins – $16.77 U.S.) in this New York Daily News article.

“There isn’t going to be a disaster,” he says. “Everybody in 2050 isn’t going to be french-fried.”

[…] Crichton, who famously walked away from his Harvard medical degree to write best-selling techno-thrillers, was browsing through a science journal that “suggested global warming was not real.”

Like everyone else, Crichton says he too was convinced that the current warming trend represented a dramatic and threatening shift. Nevertheless intrigued, he pored over data but couldn’t find compelling evidence of a looming disaster (graphs are included in the novel). And he found the science identifying global warming to be too speculative.

“The more I looked, the worse it got. The phenomenon didn’t appear to be convincingly there, certainly not yet and probably not at all. And, there was absolutely no reason to think that even if this phenomenon existed that it was an impending catastrophe of any sort.”

Yet, he wasn’t eager to rush into print with his conclusions.

“I had a long period of extreme discomfort,” he says. “I was angry. I was filled with self doubt. It was such a big subject to decide it’s not persuasive. How could this be?”
