New columns from our columnists today…

New columns in our newly relocated Columnists section today:

Mike Adams Mike Adams visits one of his favorite places again, Gonzaga University.  Well not favorite favorite places… but I like it when he goes there because he ends up writing up a storm for us all.

Here’s a snippet:

Last week, I gave a speech at Gonzaga University – a university I have written about on three separate occasions. After spending two days at this “Catholic” university, I have come to the conclusion that it is far worse than my previous articles had suggested. I use the term “worse,” primarily to describe Gonzaga’s betrayal of Catholic principles – all in the name of tolerance and diversity.

I could try to persuade my readers that my conclusion is correct by simply talking about the gay pride ribbons tied around lampposts and stair rails all around the Gonzaga campus.

I could also talk about the Gonzaga feminists who ran in and out of classrooms shouting the word “c**t” on Vagina Day, which was previously known as Valentine’s Day. They were greeted with amused laughter from professors who had their lectures interrupted by these profane displays of feminist hysteria.

Finally, I could talk about the National Day of Silence at Gonzaga. This is the day that gays and their allies refrain from speaking on campus, in order to promote awareness of discrimination against gays.

Paul Jackson Meanwhile, Paul Jackson is concerned about the lack of breeding… by humans!  At least on the western front.

It reminded me of a book I read last year called “Who Gets In” by Daniel Stoffman, which was about immigration and also dealt with birth rates in depth.  It’s a good read not just in light of Paul Jackson’s column but yesterday’s new Liberal Party vote-getting (and immigration policy) announcement by the Liberals.  Liberals are not concerned about the same issues as the rest of us (you know, “life”, for example)—they’re concerned about Liberals.

Here’s a snippet of Paul Jackson’s column (in the Columnists section!):

It’s Meyer’s third thrust, western civilization’s collapsing birthrate, I’ll touch on today. As he puts it, “It’s amazing that in a society obsessed by sex, we’ve stopped breeding.”

The replacement level to keep a population intact is 2.1 babies: One baby to replace a father, one to replace a mother, and the 0.1 because some children die before they reach adulthood, and some adults don’t have any children at all.

In Western Europe today the birthrate is 1.5, some 30% below replacement level. Meyer notes if this continues when his college age children reach his age there will be 70-80 million fewer “Europeans’ than there are now.

“Three H-bombs and a plague couldn’t accomplish that.”

Japan’s birth rate is 1.3%, which means in 20 or 30 years time, there will be 50-60 million fewer Japanese. How would you like to be a producer of baby food or baby carriages in Japan?
