Mixed message of the day: Paul Martin, socialist; Paul Martin, socialist.

Referring to another Liberal Party (could JUST as easily be NDP) plan to establish yet more government funding of still more government-created programs and institutions in order to “save” the Atlantic province of Newfoundland and Labrador (because the liberal-left believes only government can do anything—the people being too stupid), the Liberal Prime Minister Paul (“I dint know nuttin”) Martin speaks from both sides of his mouth which is obviously aimed at his squeaky left wing as he blows noxious gasses into the room:

Prime Minister Paul Martin says Newfoundland and Labrador should become a centre for the study of weather and issues such as the impact of global warming.

[…] The prime minister said he doesn’t believe the province has to live on handouts from the federal government, and added a Liberal government would help province succeed by creating the centres of excellence.

He said St. John’s is doing incredibly well, in part due to offshore gas revenues, but said he wants to spur economic development in the rest of Newfoundland and Labrador by giving them the tools to do the job.

You have to read it a couple of times to ensure that he isn’t in fact drunk on socialism, only to find out that he is.
