Prime Minister Paul Martin says anyone found culpable in the sponsorship scandal should be punished severely but he doesn’t believe his predecessor, Jean Chretien, knew anything about it. “I don’t believe that the former prime minister was knowledgeable,” Martin said Tuesday.
