“Man-made global warming” denier escapes! Run for your lives!

A climate scientist—the head of NASA, and former head of the space department at the Applied Physics Laboratory of Johns Hopkins University—questions (on the most minute level!) the ridiculous “man-made global warming” hysteria: and is instantly marginalized like a ghastly pariah.  Must be Thursday.

Nothing wakes up liberals like someone speaking truth and facts, and exposing their hideous freak-out fallacies.

ABC News.com reports on it like an ugly giant wild “homophobic” ape has just escaped from his closely-guarded media-controlled confines.  As is now to be expected of the overtly biased liberal media, which insists that “the science is now settled, shut up and get on board”, they set the story up on their web site with a haYUGE picture of planet Earth all spruced-up with the requisite liberal-left hysteria club template:  a dismal ghostly image of pollution-emitting smoke stacks craftily set over the picture of Earth, wrecking the joint.  See? Proof that we’re right and he’s wrong! It’s a “consensus”!

Bringing new meaning to the Shakespearean “The lady doth protest too much, methinks”, the scary scary story, by ABC’s Clayton Sandell and Bill Blakemore, reads like a play-by-play of the giant wild ape running rampant through the city.  It starts:

NASA administrator Michael Griffin is drawing the ire of his agency’s preeminent climate scientists after apparently downplaying the need to combat global warming.

It includes these freak-out passages of the lady’s protest:

Griffin’s comments immediately drew stunned reaction from James Hansen, NASA’s top climate scientist at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York.

[Joel notes:  Hansen was also featured in Al Gore’s freak-out lie flick called “An Inconvenient truth”].

“It’s an incredibly arrogant and ignorant statement,” Hansen told ABC News. “It indicates a complete ignorance of understanding the implications of climate change.”

Hansen believes Griffin’s comments fly in the face of well-established scientific knowledge that hundreds of NASA scientists have contributed to.

“It’s unbelievable,” said Hansen. “I thought he had been misquoted. It’s so unbelievable.”

Reportedly (you bet it was!), NASA was so upset about the ugly giant wild ape escaping that they took the unusual step—all the more unusual because they’re supposedly a science-based organization—to issue an official press release designed to totally marginalize the offending scientist like the evil pariah that he is thought to be by the liberals’ hysteria club.

News media inquiries to NASA headquarters about Griffin’s comments prompted the space agency to make the unusual move of issuing a news release late Wednesday night.

Ooh!

In actual fact, Griffin is totally right, but he should have gone much further.  He merely said:

“I have no doubt that … a trend of global warming exists. I am not sure that it is fair to say that it is a problem we must wrestle with. To assume that it is a problem is to assume that the state of Earth’s climate today is the optimal climate, the best climate that we could have or ever have had and that we need to take steps to make sure that it doesn’t change. First of all, I don’t think it’s within the power of human beings to assure that the climate does not change, as millions of years of history have shown. And second of all, I guess I would ask which human beings — where and when — are to be accorded the privilege of deciding that this particular climate that we have right here today, right now is the best climate for all other human beings. I think that’s a rather arrogant position for people to take.”

As a general matter, there’s an awful lot more arrogance abounding than just that which he mentioned.
