Liberals: caught shovelling taxpayer cash out to immigrant groups

I wonder if the Mike Duffy Live! show and its equal parts of exactly one (1) Conservative representing the “right”; one (1) Liberal, and one (1) “New Democrat”, and sometimes also one (1) Bloc Quebecois, all representing the opposition anti-conservative liberal-left side (to be fair and balanced!); and its thirteen (13) liberal media and leftist university professors and other such experts, will argue about this story today.

Or are they still on the Conservatives’ election expense quandary which the media stridently refers to as the likes of… a massive RCMP raid of historic proportions on the Stephen Harper Conservative Party headquarters involving possible criminal allegations against top-level Conservative Party operatives ironically—because they cast themselves as ‘open and honest’, Jack!—acting in possible contravention of contentious [vehemently anti-freedom—they don’t say that bit] Canadian law—although to be “fair”, Harper ‘denies’ it, Jack!—causing them to possibly [if you do some funky math] to have nefariously won the last election instead of losing it as they should have to Canada’s Natural Governing Party, over to you Lloyd!  (“‘Cause by golly, somebody’s godda keep ‘em on their toes!”)

Temple loses tax-free status

Linked to Grit slush fund scandal

By DON PEAT, SUN MEDIA

A Sikh temple that was one of the benefactors of last year’s provincial Liberal slush fund scandal has had its charitable status revoked.

Ontario Khalsa Darbar, also called the Dixie Gurdwara, had its charitable status revoked by the Canada Revenue Agency last month, according to the agency’s charities directorate.

Documents provided by Revenue Canada indicate the charity failed to file its annual information return. It must file the missing return and pay all taxes, penalties and interest for which it is liable before it becomes re-registered or transfers its remaining assets to eligible donees.

The Mississauga temple received $250,000 from the Liberals as part of the government’s much-criticized citizenship grants.

A report by the auditor general concluded a total of $32.5 million in capital grants was handed out to multicultural groups with little scrutiny and, in some cases, based on no more than a conversation with then citizenship and immigration minister Mike Colle or his political staff.

QUIT CABINET

Colle resigned his cabinet position the same day the auditor tabled his report.

[…]

According to its January 2007 registered charity information return, it declared $15.6 million in capital assets while bringing in $2.5 million in revenue and paying out $2.19 million in expenditures.

Or are they still on that “Chuck Cadman Affair”?

(Thanks to Greg H. for the story)
