Martin’s Team Dithers has flipped, flopped and dithered in panic mode, as they have now decided (on a napkin on the flight between Calgary and Vancouver?) that they think an apology to Chinese Canadians immigrating into Canada in the late 1800s and early 1900s is in order, just as the Conservatives have already said is the case.

PM apologizes for head tax in campaign trail reversal
[…] The apology contradicts the position of Multiculturalism Minister Raymond Chan, who said as recently as Wednesday morning that the government believes an apology would be ill-advised because it would expose Canadian taxpayers to costly lawsuits.
Conservative MPs said the Liberals are panicking in the face of rising Tory fortunes in the election campaign, though Liberal strategists say there has been no flip-flop.
“As I have said many times, do I regret this? The answer is yes. Do I apologize? Yes,” Martin told Fairchild Radio in an interview taped in Victoria Tuesday and broadcast Wednesday.
“I don’t know how anyone could not regret what occurred.”
All of which proves once again that the Liberals are literally flying by the seat of their pants—playing catch-up to the Conservatives and Stephen Harper on an almost daily basis now.
· They don’t believe in mandatory minimum sentences as the Conservatives always have, then they do after dozens of people are slaughtered in Liberal-laden Toronto where, notably to the liberals, a white girl is killed on the streets of Liberal-laden Toronto; · They (treasonously, I believe) let the military rust-out to the point where we can’t even control our own borders, then they boast about spending promises of billions of dollars to catch up, and promise many of the things that the Conservatives have long promised; · They slash healthcare transfers to the provinces in the 1990s to similarly help “balance the budget”, healthcare goes into an even worse tailspin than it already was, then they boast about massive promises of billions to play catch-up and “fix it” (“for a generation”); · They further embarrass themselves by following the Conservatives’ lead and promise a “healthcare guarantee”, exactly as the Conservatives did two weeks ago. Note that the Liberals have been in power for 12 years straight. · They JUST thought of it this week! They also JUST thought about what Conservative leader Stephen Harper announced 2 weeks ago—a national cancer-fighting initiative; · They follow the conservative and Conservative lead in making “families” and “values” their priority, as conservatives always have—to the point where normal people would be embarrassed at their hideous;y transparent effort to imitate Conservatives but as we know, liberals are never embarrassed; …And so much more…
“This is the first time I heard about the second opinion,” Chan said. He added, however, that he “respects” that position and added: “I commend the prime minister for apologizing.”
[…] John Reynolds, co-chairman of the Conservative election campaign, said the Liberals are in panic mode as a result of Tory gains in recent polls.
