In both the liberals’ state-run CBC Newsworld and the liberals’ liberalvision CTV Newsnet version of the story, they introduce the haYUGE revelation that gas prices are high (this is their 84th such revelation this week) with the report released by their Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives division which proves! with scientific evidence! and a damn fine consensus! among experts! with slide rules! and even a cool gas price gouge-o-meter! that them damn capitalist oil companies is gouging us! Government must get involved! Gov’ment regulations! Buy them out—or just take them over like their heroic champions Chavez and Castro before him!
They each forget to remind us that the “Alternative” in the name of the “think tank” (snicker) is “socialism” or better yet, I suspect, “communism”. No, I’m not kidding. You owe it to yourself to learn about them, on your own, of course. As we can see, the liberal media in Canada certainly isn’t going to expose them for you. And in school you probably used them as a “gender-neutral learning tool”.
Accordingly, the media forget to preface the mention of the fabulous new gas prices report by the socialist pinhead propagandizers at the Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives with any of these words which are required for full disclosure: “the extreme leftist…” or “rabidly anti-capitalist…” or “group which seeks to end capitalism as we know it and turn Canada into another Soviet-style enclave…” or “far fringe leftist…” or “communist…” or even “socialist…”.
This is in contradistinction to what they call the superb normal Fraser Institute (which by the way simply stands for normal, free-world western-style free markets, which as you may know built our country and which we still rely on today to keep us one of the best countries in the world), as: “the far right-wing…” or the “waaay right of center…” or the “hey they’z a bunch o’ conservatives, so take what yer about to hear with a large grain of salt…” Fraser Institute. In actual fact, the Fraser Institute is absolutely “normal”—no preface required. But the liberal-left media don’t care about that. They’ve got a leftward ho! agenda to drive.
CBC Newsworld was funniest of all so far today, as the state-run socialism-reliant and far left-wing news channel’s “business reporter” (that still makes me laugh!) Jeannie Lee added the web site address for their (plain old non-prefaced) Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives on the TV screen for the duration of their long, long story about how evil free markets are. That’s so you Canooks can go check it out. Then they actually went to the web site, live on the air, and showed us how the gas price gouge-o-meter works —and then blathered on and on about its wonderfulness.
CBC: hold my hand, dumb Canook, and we’ll show you the way to socialist bliss.
They’ve never put my web site address on the screen. Huh. that’s weird. Once, though, when doing a story about blogging during the pre-election campaign time of November 2005, their Internet “expert” informed Canadians that the forum called Babble was the be-all, end-all, Canadian discussion forum which presented a good, true representation of the average Canadian Joe’s thoughts in Canada about all subjects. (See my blog entry). To quote them , “it represents “a real pulse” in terms of how people are thinking across our country”. Naturally, sane people know that Babble (at the web site called Rabble.ca) is without much doubt the most rabidly far-left radical fringe web site in Canada and one of the most so in North America. Most of the participants appear to be full-on Marxists to me and to most sensible people, I think. Nearly all of the participants of our own PTBC forums have been banned from Rabble.ca, on the basis that they said things that weren’t overtly pro-socialist, we think.
The liberalvision CTV.ca web site’s version of the big gas gouge story today toes the line too, of course, never once mentioning “left-wing” or “communist”:
The state-run media suck-ups naturally did the same for their leftist compadres—nary a single “left-wing” or “progressive” or “socialist” in there anywhere:
But whatever you do, conservatives, sit there and do nothing, because it’s bound to get better on its own!
