Oh my.
And over the weekend, the exceedingly liberal-left Globe and Mail editorial called for a Harper victory.
Imagine the strength of the conservative vote in this country considering the forces working against conservative ideals: decades of the liberal media working against the conservatives; the liberal academia teaching liberalism and anti-conservativism; liberal Hollywood (”North”!) and liberal entertainment industry pumping out their largely anti-conservative message; the state-run media division of the liberal-left pumping out a rabidly left-wing and anti-conservative propaganda for years; liberal governments creating and nurturing an anti-conservative culture; liberal governments creating a culture of entitlement and government reliance and attempting to redefine the foundational roots of our very nation (“Canadian family” and “marriage”); and liberals dominating practically every other facet of our lives.
Imagine that despite all that, a plurality of Canadians are favoring the Conservatives in the polls.
It’s a strange world. The next thing you know, the CBC will be saying the word “conservative” without sneering, and school teachers and university professors will be teaching that “profit”, “personal responsibility”, “private enterprise”, “values”, and “traditional families” and other conservative principles are actually good things rather than evil things.
OK that’s a little crazy I know, but I’m all about the hope!
