In Canada, the guaranteed way to get your way is to put something “gay” in it

Seems crystal clear to me over here in the non-liberal-left world of sanity, family values, law and order, productivity, personal responsibility, a high respect for God, and community standards.  But apparently not to the liberal-left, or their media

But here are the salient points of this story:

“The play wasn’t appropriate as family entertainment.”

…[T]he play’s content included sex, violence and foul language, which was considered inappropriate for elementary school siblings of students at the high school and grandparents who would likely be in the audience.

…“It’s not going ahead simply out of respect for and sensitivity of the audience,” he added.

This despite the headline which informs us that “Surrey cancels gay play”.  It’s all about the gay, see.

Why on Earth would any high school drama teacher want to present a play to the community which had any sex (of any kind), violence, or foul language?  Why is that an important thing to do?

Are high schools centers of potty-mouthed political drama now?  Or do they still teach math and science?  Are high school plays all about “the message” (always an overtly liberal-left politically-correct one) that gets put out there in the community, now?  Or are they not still about getting kids involved in extra-curricular activities, and interested in the arts, and so on?

I am able to comprehend the notion that teaching anti-violence against any innocent people—gay people or bank tellers—is a good thing to do in high schools—it’s so obvious in fact that I would never even think of the need to remind ourselves of that fact.  “Duh”, as the kids say.

So teach them that!

Putting on a play about it is about the most ass-backward way of teaching them about it that I can possibly imagine.  I think this is more like a way of teaching a big ol’ lesson to those stuck-up old non-Marxist and annoyingly straight conservative parents who simply refuse to teach their kids the “values” that the often extreme-left teachers would have them be taught.

You want to teach “tolerance” and “compassion” and anti-violence toward gay people?  Go ahead.  Launch a 12-part lecture series about it for all I care.  Be sure to include the part about bank tellers.

Why don’t high school drama teachers ever put on plays that send the message out—by way of a warning—that many teachers in our high schools are actually Marxists and strive to steer our children toward the hard political left as best and surreptitiously as they can?  Aren’t there any plays like that?  If I found one without sex, violence and foul language (even though it would be absolutely germane to the subject matter), would a drama teacher present it to the community?  I promise to give you free advertising!
