Ignatieff and the liberal-left’s Senate division purposely risks ruining Canadian economic recovery

CTV.ca headline: Senate committee to stall budget, Flaherty says.

And the media is mostly on board with the liberals, and rather than hammering their man Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff, they’re simply, obsequiously, waiting it out with him while Canadians suffer and the risks grow, reflexively presuming that Ignatieff, by virtue of his liberalness, must be on the right track.

Ignatieff’s Liberals in the Parliament are also purposely stalling on the vote to OK the $3 billion cash set aside for immediate “stimulus”, pretending that they’re concerned about where the money will be spent; pretending that the government will spend it on anti-abortion missions or Bibles or nuclear bombs or something.  Perhaps something “hidden agenda”-ish.  Maybe on fuzzy sweaters.

It’s a dangerous political farce which the liberals and their Senate and media divisions are playing, which risks the very core of the nation and its economy.

Right about now, if roles were reversed and Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff was Prime Minister trying to pass his budget and Conservative leader Stephen Harper was holding this up, the liberals’ media division would be going ape poop, ridiculing Harper, constantly badgering him with tendentious questions, never letting up, demanding to know why he is holding Canadians and the economics of our country hostage.

I don’t know whose side Ignatieff or his Senators or his media are on.  Personally, I’m on Canada’s side.

(Joel’s cool ‘n groovy word o’ the day alert:  yes, those of you keeping score at home, “obsequious” is my word o’ the day.  Obsequious.)
