Grewal comes under new/old fire

Old news is resurfacing about Gurmant Grewal.

In 1993 or so, when Grewal was immigrating into Canada, he invested $50,000 into a carpet company in order to advance his immigration effort as an “immigrant investor”, I suppose.

The man from whom he bought the carpet company shares says that the transaction was a farce.  It was only done for appearances.  He returned the money to Grewal the very next day.

There will be more details about this to come, I’m sure.

I’m begging Grewal to join the Liberals.  Will they still welcome him with that “furry welcome mat” that Paul Martin’s chief of staff spoke to Grewal about on the nefarious tapes?  I hope so.  Embrace the mat, Gurmant.  Embrace the mat.

Meanwhile, Gurmant’s wife Nina, also a Conservative MP, says Gurmant is doing fine on his stress leave.  No word on whether he’s playing cards with Svend Robinson who’s also said to be doing fine on his stress leave.

Nina Grewal is also now saying that like Paul Martin, she had nuttin to do with nuttin.

According to the CTV.ca site:

Conservative MP Nina Grewal has broken two weeks of silence to say she had nothing to do with secret talks between her husband, Gurmant Grewal, and senior Liberals.

Grewal tells the Toronto Star that she was not approached by the Liberal Party ahead of the May 19 budget vote, nor did she take part in any negotiations with the Grits.
