Gosh they’re not following the Liberal-Left playbook, Watson!

Liberal media are confounded by Conservatives thinking like conservatives.  Evidently the media needs schooling that includes conservative thinking (I know—too radical for our schools!).  Evidently they need lessons on not being a liberal-left automaton (I know—crazy talk!).  Evidently it’s all utterly foreign to them.

Tories ignored department advice on environment, documents show

OTTAWA – The Conservative government scrapped two popular climate change programs, including the One-Tonne Challenge, despite advice from the Environment Department that they were ‘‘engaging citizens’’ and as ‘‘fundamental’’ to addressing climate change as measures taken against large industrial polluters, newly released documents reveal.

The briefing book for the new minister, prepared by departmental officials and obtained by CanWest News Service, contains strong warnings against reversing a number of key decisions taken by the previous Liberal government. In many cases, Rona Ambrose ignored the advice and has faced criticism from environmental organizations and opposition politicians.

I wonder if they faced kudos from anybody.  Nah.  Just criticism. And lo and behold, from the strangest places:  environmental organizations, many of which inexplicably got taxpayer funding from the Liberals, and liberal-leftist opposition politicians.  This is truly shocking.  And that Ambrose went the other way?  Blasphemy!

Of course anybody with an ounce of common sense (that is, outside of the media) would ask:  What in tarnation can you expect when Canada and all its huge government bureaucracies and its various departments and divisions and secretariats are chock-a-block stuffed full of liberals from top to bottom and everywhere in between, nearly all of whom were appointed by way of Liberal Party patronage (and then their underlings hired more, and so on, and so on), over decades of leftist Liberals bent on turning Canada into a bastion of anti-corporate liberal-leftist fundamentalism?

Staff in particular departments, like the ministry of the environment, are probably more prone to be liberal-leftists so hiring them even without appealing to one’s Liberal-Left black book of Liberal Party members and their unemployed hippy sons and granola-munching daughters that all liberals carry in order to quickly and efficiently hire more and more and still more hundreds of big government staff.

Thousands of scientists maintain that the Kyoto Accord is stupid and flawed and based on junk science.  That’s not who the Liberal-leftists hired.  (Do you know any so-called “environmentalists” who are capitalist free enterprisers bent on social conservatism and who wear sharp business suits to work?  Or any men in the throngs of staff who don’t have at least one pierced ear if not also a pierced eyebrow and/or lip?)

It doesn’t mean they’re stupid, it doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to live, it doesn’t mean you hate them, it doesn’t mean you don’t trust them, it doesn’t mean you stop listening to them or “ignore” them as the tendentious media ignobly portrayed it here, and no, it doesn’t mean you fire them all (just the vast majority of them).  What it does mean is that you have to be vigilant and filter everything that’s told to you knowing that it’s being conveyed through a prism of leftism and sometimes outright anti-capitalist socialism.  The environmentalist meme they are spouting is being told to you by liberal-leftist automatons —people bent on the old fashioned thinking of liberal-leftists on the environment, and experts at few things more than spending money and making government bigger. So you listen and then make up your mind based on what they tell you and based on the other things you know.  That’s what intelligent people—and good governments —do.

So that’s what Rona Ambrose and the Conservatives did.  That ain’t liberal, and the media is so freaked out by all this that they can’t even think straight.
