Fox network—not CBC—to develop Bob & Doug McKenzie hoser cartoon… with Global TV

Proving once again that government bureaucrats and other such hosers at Canada’s state-owned media, the CBC, have no clue what they’re doing and have no business running state-owned taxpayer-funded government entertainment outfits, the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the Fox network in the U.S. —no, not the liberals’ CBC division in Canada—is developing a possible new hit with a pair of Canadian pop icons, Bob and Doug McKenzie, the hosers.  This will add to the stable of cartoon successes at Fox (the Simpsons, Family Guy, King of the Hill, Futurama, and American Dad).

D’oh!

Of course I can’t imagine the lefties at the CBC even considering engaging in a development deal with Fox Broadcasting of all people…

Fox joins animated ‘Bob & Doug’

The Fox network has come on board the development of “The Animated Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie,” a Canadian primetime cartoon for Canada’s Global Television that reunites Second City TV alumni Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas.

Thomas, whose Los Angeles production shingle is Maple Palms Prods., said Monday that Fox came in on the pilot episode of a cartoon based on the SCTV characters Bob & Doug McKenzie, to be voiced by himself and Moranis.

Global Television already has ordered 13 episodes of “The Animated Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie” for its 2009 schedule. …

I’m mostly glad because then we can start calling people hosers again.
