Corruption scandal: The Liberal Party is the victim, see.

The Liberal Party of Canada, who this morning called the RCMP to investigate more aspects of their own party’s political corruption scandal, has been granted “full standing” at the judicial inquiry into the scandal.  That means lawyers for the party—unlike any other party—will be allowed to cross-examine witnesses at the inquiry.

According to the taxpayer-funded lawyer representing the Liberals, they called the RCMP because they are concerned that perhaps the Liberal Party of Canada has been the “VICTIM” of their corruption.

I’ll go ahead and repeat that:  They called the RCMP because they are concerned that perhaps the Liberal Party of Canada has been the “VICTIM” of their corruption.

Yes, the liberals are “victims” in this.  No official word on this, but I am led to believe that Svend Robinson is advising them on these matters.  He’s still a victim of his stealing a diamond ring for his gay lover, but he’s recovering.

The federal Liberal party, beset by allegations public money was funnelled into its Quebec wing, said Monday it has asked the RCMP to investigate the possibility the party was a victim of fraud.

The announcement at the sponsorship inquiry by party lawyer Doug Mitchell comes three days after ad man Jean Brault delivered inquiry testimony said to be devastating to the minority Liberal government.

“I have been directed by my clients to contact the RCMP to ask that they investigate the possibility that the party itself may have been the target of fraud or other harmful acts by certain individuals,” Mitchell told reporters.

How Canadian.  Voters will fall in love with the Liberals all over again.

Of course the Liberal government started the inquiry and as they keep reminding us, that shows how honorable they are and how deserving of your vote next time!  They also hired the judge, is paying for it all (it’s not the Liberal Party who’s paying for it, it’s you and me who probably didn’t have much to do with committing any offences), has hired the lawyers asking the questions, and is even going to pay for the lawyers who cross examine witnesses whose testimony harms them as a party. We’re paying for their lawyers.  It will cost tens of millions of your dollars.

Apparently the Liberal Party won’t lose anything out of this—in fact as they say (and this is true in Canada more than perhaps anywhere else), “no publicity for liberals is bad publicity for liberals especially when all taxpayers pay for their publicity instead of the Liberal Party paying for their publicity”.

I imagine that based on our voting history, all this Liberal Party corruption will give the Liberals the majority they’ll need to finally wipe out the inquiry and end the embarrassments.  Then they can really get “progressive” and wipe out the Canadian “family”, then “religion”, and then continue to besmirch conservative thought in our great nation to allow for still more “progress”.

This all stems from revelations that came up during testimony given last week (and continues today) by Quebec advertising executive and Liberal Party lap-dog Jean Brault—who is already under criminal investigation and faces a criminal trial later this year (he’s trying to get it delayed, perhaps so that the Liberals can win the next election without having the testimony given at the trial embarrass them even more than they have been).

Oh yes and… vote liberal.
