Communists in Ontario mad at that right-winger McQuinty

According to the latest edition of my “The Bullet” newsletter from the Canadian socialist league (or whatever they call themselves … and why do they call their newsletter “The Bullet”, huh?), welfare rates should increase in Ontario by at least 40% right now, today.  If I’m not mistaken, pay packets for corporate executives should shrink by approximately 100%, following which the execs should be poked with a stick. By “working families”. (As long as the workers aren’t Jews.)

Under that right-winger McGuinty the liberals’ Liberal (the socialists and communists constantly refer to Liberals as “Neoliberals”, much as most Liberals and the even further left love calling plain old conservatives “Neo-Cons”), they claim things haven’t improved at all since that, um, über, right-winger Mike Harris, Progressive Conservative, conducted his organized program of, and I quote, “social retrogression”.

The Marx-esque essay talks of “the capitalist class” (that’s me!) and leads finally to talk of its big September protest rally (class warfare rally?) to be held at the Ontario legislature.  Hope I’m not giving anything away!

“Following a call issued by activists from the Toronto Disaster Relief Committee (TDRC), a working committee of union activists, social agency representatives and community organizers is now planning for a September rally at the Ontario legislature. Demands will focus on social assistance rates, the minimum wage and housing. Added to this is support for the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” demand of No One is Illegal.”

Aw, I bet there will be a lot more than just those classy and intellectually honest groups.  There will be lots of soap-challenged hippies, NDP MPs and of course their stalwart leader Jack Layton and his life partner Olivia Chow, wymyn with hairy armpits, folks with empowering tattoos and face piercings, and lots of immigrant groups protesting Canada generally.  And anti-war activists, and pro-“choice” militants.  And teachers.  And vegans.  And of course the whole joint will reek of pot, as legalizing that will also form part of the big

class warfare

protest.

CBC will cover it.
