CNN apologizes and anchor Wolf Blitzer will personally phone Obama to apologize

I don’t believe the state-run CBC ever apologized, nor did state-employed anchor Peter Mansbridge personally phone Stephen Harper when they “inadvertently” drew up some graphics conjoining the name “Harper” with “Heil” and “66” for their big national state news broadcast.

But sometimes you absolutely KNOW that an inadvertent error was made by the liberal media.  Like when a liberal-biased cable news outfit (CNN) mistakenly makes a graphic using the name “Obama” (you know, the Democratic Party “rock star” they incessantly drool over) in place of “Osama”.  The only question is how they didn’t mistakenly place “Bush” in there instead.

CNN Apologizes for Mistaken Headline

CNN apologized Tuesday for mistakenly promoting a story on the search for Osama bin Laden with the headline “Where’s Obama?”

A spokesman for Illinois Sen. Barack Obama said the apology was accepted.

The blunder came Monday evening on Wolf Blitzer’s news show “The Situation Room.” Both Soledad O’Brien and Blitzer offered separate apologies during CNN’s morning show Tuesday.

CNN called it a “bad typographical error” by its graphics department.

“We want to apologize for that bad typo,” Blitzer said. “We also want to apologize personally to Sen. Barack Obama. I’m going to be making a call to him later this morning to offer my personal apology.”

Tommy Vieto, Obama’s press secretary, said he appreciated the bloggers and activists who brought the error to light so quickly and helped make sure it was corrected.

“Though I’d note that the ‘s’ and ‘b’ keys aren’t all that close to each other, I assume it was just an unfortunate mistake, and don’t think there was any truly malicious intent,” Vieto said.

So glad all those bloggers and “activists” pointed that out to them.  But you can almost understand the Obama/Osama confusion at CNN when Barack Obama’s middle name is Hussein!  (No—not kidding).

Folks (and “activists”) didn’t have to tell CNN twice before getting the above mentioned slobbering apology, unlike when this accidentally happened at Canada’s state-run CBC, which accidentally conjoined Harper with a well-known Hitler salute and a best-effort at the sign of the devil in this actual CBC TV graphic displayed on “The National”, as caught by my wary eye and recording equipment:

Multiple posts and letter-writing by PTBC readers finally got a sheepish, and what I would generously call a total BS official explanation (in lieu of an apology) —from the state-run CBC, which noted ProudToBeCanadian’s “spurring-on” of the complaints:
