Chris Rock says Oscars are just for gays

A Matt Drudge report via a WorldNetDaily.com story reports on remarks made by Chris Rock, who was chosen to host the Oscars this year (no, it’s not Billy Crystal this year).

He reportedly said that the Oscars show was just for gays.  I wonder what Libby Davies thinks of that remark

Personally, I thought it was just for watching millionaire liberals trip-up on their gowns and speeches and make idiots out of themselves thanking all humanity for their help in their “journey” (the 6-weeks it took to make a stupid movie), as if they actually did something worthy of any award whatsoever.

Chris Rock: Oscars only for ‘gays’
Officials with Academy reportedly concerned about choice of host

Was the choice of comedian Chris Rock to host this year’s Oscars event a mistake?

That’s what officials at Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are said to be asking themselves in the wake of comments implying only homosexuals watch the Oscars, according to the Drudge Report.

“I never watched the Oscars. Come on, it’s a fashion show,” Rock recently said. “No one performs; it’s not like a music show. What straight black man sits there and watches the Oscars? Show me one!”

Rock added: “Awards for art are f—-ing idiotic.”

Academy members are reportedly privately calling for the 39-year-old comic to be removed as host, fearing Rock may “tarnish” the Academy’s reputation.

But one Hollywood insider revealed the real crisis in his mind, which wasn’t the gay remark—see when liberals are confronted with the possibility that the value of the shiny trinkets are on the line, they reach right into the crux of the matter,  which is nothing to do with his “gay” remarks, but this angle:

“Simply put, this is a disgrace,” one veteran Hollywood mogul told Drudge. “This guy is out there saying ‘awards for art are f—-ing idiotic’ and he is hosting the show produced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences? I guess the joke is on us!”

When someone asked the producer of the show how it was that Rock was chosen over Billy Crystal, the exchange went like this, reportedly:

“Billy [Crystal] is doing a show in New York,” Cates said, “Steve Martin is doing a movie. …”

Rock interrupted the producer to continue, saying, “Ellen DeGeneres has crabs. Jay Leno’s got a gig. They got to the R’s. Burt Reynolds said no.”
