CBC’s Peter Mansbridge levels cheap shot at Conservatives, Vellacott

The opening line in tonight’s state-run news broadcast, “The National”, starring Peter Mansbridge (this version of the newscast as seen on the state-run CBC Newsworld division, channel 390 on my satellite service), is:

“Maurice Vellacott decided to cut and run today….”

For those of you who are slow, that was a cheap shot at Prime Minister Stephen Harper and all Conservatives who have said that we shouldn’t, nor do they intend —to “cut and run” when the going gets tough in Afghanistan.

Peter Mansbridge’s new job description apparently includes feeding lines to lazy liberal-leftist bloggers and pundits now.  Of course I do believe that’s always been in the CBC mandate.  Right?

And of course no story in Canadian TV news media, otherwise known as “liberalvision”, would be complete without getting the real truth to the story from a university professor—usually a real leftist or better yet, a Marxist university professor.  Today, the CBC asked Professor Chris Levy, whom I have never heard of, as usual, and who informed us with his uncommon wisdom:

“There is a real issue, uh, uh, of an attempt by the Conservative Party to downplay what is a ultimately a significant strand of its thinking”.

And now you’re informed, thanks to the state-run news purveyor of our state.  They report, you decide.
