I point out how the taxpayer-paid news anchor Nancy (“very interesting!”) Wilson incessantly misuses the phrase “begs the question” (which she thinks means that something requires her to ask a question, which it not what it means, and which it doesn’t require her to do), because she obviously doesn’t have a clue what it means. I’ve explained it at least a couple of times, but for some weird reason, she doesn’t read my blog.
She makes other mistakes that uneducated or public school-educated people make, too. For example just now she explained to the socialism-reliant state-owned CBC’s oxymoronic (emphasis on moronic) “YOUR BUSINESS” segment anchor Jeannie Lee that lots of folks are on “tenderhooks” regarding the collapse of GM. “Tenderhooks” is not actually a word. It’s a mistake that people make when they don’t have a clue what the actual word is. The actual word is tenterhooks.
Or to put it another way, if George Bush or any Republican said it (especially Sarah Palin!), they would be mocked and ridiculed and besmirched until the cows come home. But it’s OK because Nancy Wilson is not a Republican. No she’s not, any more than Canadians are on “tenderhooks”.

JUST NOW: Wilson told Lee that ”…we know a big part of the expenses is coming from the troubled auto sector so uh it begs the question …. what is the latest case from General Motors?”
Nope. It doesn’t “beg the question”, Mizz Wilson. It might lead one to ask the question, but it doesn’t “beg the question”.
