Here are just some of the CBC banners that I managed to capture just this week (many from just today). Obviously I didn’t catch most of them as they run all day and change their wording slightly all day. Note that they’ve been running banners like this—and I captured and posted lots of them here as regulars know—for about two years. They didn’t just start when the current crisis finally hit.
The big picture at the bottom—the one with the gals smiling—or smirking—reads “DOWN IN THE DUMPS”—you know, like them! It’s from this morning. This banner is in honor of a story about consumer confidence magically being down in the latest report on the measure of consumer confidence. Down! Yeah I know! It’s shocking! How could it possibly be down?
Note that over the left shoulder of the state-owned, socialism-reliant CBC’s “business” reporter, the Toronto Stock Exchange is registering a POSITIVE (green) uptick (it was up 116 points at that moment—see the picture below). As I type, it’s up 230 points. 10:11 AM UPDATE: now up 403, but no excited banner from CBC…
The “MORE MARKET MALAISE” banner in my small banner sampling, above, appeared at the exact time this morning—at 8:08 AM PT—when both the TSX was up (51 points) and the DOW was up (249 points). “More market malaise”. Taken from the standpoint of the socialism-reliant and all negative, all the time CBC, I think see their point. Up=bad.
