Are you like me? Is your reflexive reaction to this news item in today’s government-controlled Canadian news media “who gives a flying crap?” Or did you use a different word than “crap?”
After months of culinary reflection, David Jacobson, the former U.S. ambassador to Canada, has set the record straight on his favourite Canadian food.
The fact that it’s published at Canada’s state-owned, taxpayer-funded (to the tune of $1.2 BILLION per year) CBC.ca… well that’s just priceless. Proves we need the state-owned media, you guys.
Once again, as I did just earlier this morning, I implore you: trust the government. Because this is some important “investment” of your tax dollars. I’m sure it “empowers” somebody. Or perhaps “starts a conversation.” After all, if the government didn’t take your money, you’d spend it on something silly, like “beer and popcorn” ™Liberal/Socialist/Progressive Hacks
Here’s more:
During an interview on CBC News Networks’ Power & Politics in June, just a few days before the former U.S. ambassador left his post at the embassy in Ottawa, Jacobson told host Evan Solomon that the food he loved eating most while in Canada was game, such as elk and bison.
But this weekend, in an interview for CBC Radio’s The House, Jacobson came forward with the truth: his most beloved Canadian food is actually Montreal smoked meat.
Now pay your taxes, you dumb accept-everything-thrown-at-you-Canucks.
