But “there were no weapons of mass destruction!” And Bush is a “neocon!” “You’re stupid!”

How do liberals process stories like this?  Are they embarrassed?  Wool yeah Joel sure Saddam killed hundreds of thousands or maybe even millions of innocent humans and tortured and maimed and dismembered countless thousands of humans, and sure he and his posse raped thousands of women and children, and sure he posed an obvious, growing, grave threat to the entire world, and wool yeah sure Saddam was able to move all his weapons of mass destruction to Syria and other places during that well-advertised year-long “rush to war”, enabling us to pretend ‘there were no WMD’s!’ when we finally got there, and everything, eh, but by golly Bush was an idiot!

BAGHDAD — Saddam Hussein’s notorious cousin “Chemical Ali” was convicted and sentenced to death by hanging on Sunday for ordering the gassing of Kurds in 1988, killing more than 5,000 in the worst such attack ever against civilians.

Al-Majid earned his nickname because of his willingness to use poison gas against the Kurds. The 1988 killings remain a source of deep pain, particularly for Iraq’s Kurds. Many in Halabja still suffer physically from the effects of the nerve and mustard gas that were unleashed on the village at the end of the Iran-Iraq War.

The gassing of the town was considered the most extensive use of chemical weapons on civilians in history.

Al-Majid faces three previous death sentences for atrocities committed during Saddam’s rule—particularly government campaigns against Shiites and Kurds in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

He was previously sentenced to hang for his role in a brutal crackdown against the Kurds in the late 1980s, known as the Anfal campaign, that killed hundreds of thousands

Every day I’m more and more amazed at the reflexive, ideological anti-Iraq war liberals and other leftists who, along with their useful idiot mouthpieces in media and schools and Hollywood and elsewhere, continue to deny the huge benefits accrued to all humanity resulting from President George Bush’s decision to take out the savage dictator, Saddam Hussein, and returning that country to the people.

For all their mindless and baseless blather about Bush being “an idiot”, their attitude against Iraq sure betrays a high level of provincial, short-sighted, and unsophisticated thinking.  It’s nothing short of stupefying.

So how do liberals process this?  “But there were no weapons of mass destruction!  And Bush is a neocon!  You’re stupid!”  That’s largely how they process it.
