At least we have these world renowned fighters

In a sudden departure from politics for a second…. Check out the musculature on this little fighter!  I’m not sure why exactly, but I’ve always been a sucker for the champion figure skaters.  This constantly embarrasses my wife who thinks I’m being a girlie-man, to which I always reply with my pithy little answer, “no, this just reinforces my obviously manliness” or some such tripe.  I don’t really know how it plays out in her psyche. 

I couldn’t care less about hockey, but few things help me find my Canadian pride more than a stellar performance in front of a world audience by a great Canadian individual athlete, all alone on a huge ice rink. 

The Canadian woman to watch for these days is Joannie Rochette from Dupas Quebec.  She’s in Moscow fighting her way through the World Figure Skating Championships.  She’s only 19, so she’s still got lots of fight left.
