Their headline provides a hint as to what’s to come. They sneeringly refer to the appointment of the twice-elected Senator-in-waiting as the (beware: media agenda-quote-marks coming!)

Apparently the “reporter” is unaware that as of yet—despite the noble efforts of the Conservatives —in keeping with the principles of Bill C-43, the proposed law that would enable Canadians to vote for Senators —we do not have an elected senate yet. Blame the liberal-left for that—not Canadians, who are on Harper’s Conservative side on that issue. Perhaps the “reporter” would prefer to see folks appointed on the Liberals’ crafty and tendentious “willy-nilly” basis instead of lowering ourselves to that stupid “democracy” thing (well, “thing” or “crusade”—whatever), which is of course “American-style” and therefore “Bush-like”.
In the “news” story itself, they inform you, “…Although that election does not compel Mr. Harper to appoint Mr. Brown, the Prime Minister said the move boosts the Conservative crusade.”
Now… I didn’t personally hear the Prime Minister claim—outright “say”—that “the move boosts the Conservative crusade,” but I guess it’s possible. I’d sure like the “reporter”, Brian Laghi, or the Globe and Mail’s editors to provide me with that exact quote. That would be the Christian “crusade-ish” thing to do—am I right, liberals?
