Al-Qaeda seeks toxins for biowarfare attack

Liberals in Canada like Carolyn (mad cow) Parrish will be happy to point out that the American ballistic missile defence system will have no effect on the current attempts by Al-Qaeda terrorists to build up a chemical and biological weapons cache to attack the west (which queerly doesn’t include Canada, apparently).  On the other hand, they don’t think chemical or biological weapons will affect them personally—only “American idiots”, and they’re, like, all religious and stuff—so no biggy, the liberals’ thinking goes.

Thank goodness our otherwise porous border with the US has the uncanny ability to magically keep nasty wind and gasses (and bad karma!) from entering our un-American space. It kept Fox News Channel out for years (though it let Playboy Channel sneak in somehow, but whatever).  I’m pretty sure the supernatural coastal borders’ magical powers work against rogue intercontinental ballistic missiles too.  Not sure! We can always wait and see I guess.

One part of this article caught my eye:

“It seems likely that, over a period between a few months and a few years, broadly skilled individuals equipped with modest laboratory equipment can develop biological weapons,” said Richard Danzig, a biowarfare consultant to the Pentagon.

Other US officials suspect Bin Laden may be planting his acolytes in university science departments in the same way that he sent the September 11 hijackers to US flying schools.

“This is a guy who thinks long-term,” said one senior Washington source. “We have to learn to think like him.”

“Long term”.  Wow, liberals, imagine that.
