ABC News tries to turn positive inaugural into negative for Bush

In another excellent example of how positive liberals are and how “fair and balanced” ABC News and most of the other old mainstream media is (not!), the ABC News website was caught yesterday trying to solicit information from anybody out there about any military funerals that might be taking place on the same day President Bush was being sworn in to a second term yesterday.  I understand the concept of media trying to round out stories and presenting full coverage, but then there’s this example of trying everything you can to turn a Bush “positive” into a Bush “negative”.  Creating and portraying the story the way they want it presented instead of, well, covering the story as it actually is.

(click here to see a cropped section of the actual ABC News website posting)

“Jan. 19, 2005 – For a possible Inauguration Day story on ABC News, we are trying to find out if there [sic] any military funerals for Iraq war casualties scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 20. If you know a funeral and whether the family might be willing to talk to ABC News, please fill out the form below:”

And according to CNSNews.com:

…the web message requesting information about military funerals fit in with other inaugural coverage by ABC News, Graham [Tim Graham, director of media analysis at the Media Research Center] said. “[Thursday] morning on Good Morning America, there was a set of stories about how lavish the inauguration was. They asked Laura Bush about it, they asked Rudy Giuliani about it. They had a woman who lost her son in the war … This leans you in the direction that this is what they were looking for.”

Pessimistic bitter liberals including those in the media can’t see anything but negatives, and even set out— make an effort—to fill their minds and those of their viewers with their pessimism and negativity and constant drive for a defeatist attitude.
