A smattering of opinion

In another surprise Globe & Mail online poll concerning a mandate from a couple of secular-progressive know-it-alls (a sociologist and a philosopher!) who wrote a report concluding that the people of Quebec must remove a crucifix from the Quebec legislature buildings), Canadians once again choose right, not that it matters to liberal secular-progressive know-it-alls what Canadians think:

Yet, proving my thesis that Canadians don’t know what in tarnation the difference is between conservatives and liberals, according to the latest Nanos poll (below), the Conservatives have gained absolutely no ground insofar as national popularity, and Canucks have resolutely retained their quixotic love affair with the leaderless Liberal Party and even further leftists. (Ask them to explain exactly why they feel that way, and you’ll be met with the delightful sound of crickets).

It seems to me that based on this poll, the Conservatives would lose an election rather badly today, given the apparently innate unpopularity of even the most remote semblance of federal conservatism in the increasingly liberal-left havens of Ontario, The Nation Of Quebec, and of course the now fully state-reliant east coast.

Hmm.  Maybe if the Conservatives (with the able aid of conservatives across the land) presented and explained and pushed hard for true blue conservative ideas rather than trying quite so hard (or being quite so willing) to be Liberal Party Too?  Not worth it I guess.

Question: For those parties you would consider voting for federally, could you please rank your top two current local preferences? (Committed Voters Only – First Choice)

The numbers in parenthesis denote the change from the previous Nanos Research Survey completed in April, 2008.

Blameworthy:  the liberal-left media; liberal-left academia; the Conservative Party and all its politicians and minions; and moreover, yourself if you’re a conservative Canadian.

Finally, the latest CTV.ca poll suggests that Canadians aren’t on side when it comes to the Supreme Court and its awesomeness.  (Re the murdering terrorist suspect Omar Khadr)
