(Doing a little catching up here…)
An Ottawa Citizen headline last week reads:
“Christians livid as CRTC denies religious radio,
but OKs porn TV”
.
Well I’m glad the media is once again forced to expose the liberals’ CRTC division—the liberal-left’s very own, dreadful, state-run big brother regulator of what we “free” (—ha) Canadians are allowed to watch on TV and listen to on the radio and in what ratio and politically correct proportion or acceptability. But here’s what also bugs me about this headline:
Why do liberals generally assume and portray these issues as just “Christians” who are “livid” about these things? Wouldn’t any normal Canadian be “livid” by this bunch of depraved, socialist, liberal-left appointed dictators? Could it be that they’re simply trying to marginalize Christians? Yes, I do believe that’s possible. And if so, shouldn’t the liberals’ “Human Rights” Commissions be getting a giant boner about that right about now?
This isn’t the first time a Christian media license has been rejected at the exact same time that they accepted yet another PORN channel. I actually think they do it on purpose. (And a sidebar alert: what about, for example, the fact that the liberals’ CRTC division accepted a TV cable license application by al-Jazeera before they accepted Fox News Channel—and even considered slapping Fox News Channel with the same censorship guidelines as al-Jazeera on the demand of Canadian liberals and leftists who warned the CRTC that it presented a “conservative” point of view, in much the same way the Al-Jazeera presented “terrorist” point of view. Were only “conservatives” freaked out by that Nazi-like stance?).
It’s always “Christians” who they identify as being pro-life —or what they more often call “anti-choice” or anti-abortion”. Yes “Christians” believe life begins at conception. “Christian” groups oppose abortion. But actually, life itself—science—and DNA evidence—informs us about human life in the womb, too. That’s the inconvenient truth. Millions upon millions of Canadians believe that. Only culture of death liberals and pro-abortion zealots believe otherwise.
“Christians” are against gay ‘marriage’. Bull. Anybody who has actually taken a look down at —and thought about—that whole penis-vagina thing could understand and want to protect the concept of—the value of—traditional marriage as that between a man and a woman. And of creating, then raising families. These aren’t “Christian” tenets and concepts to the exclusion of “normal life” and “science” tenets and concepts. They’re Canadian! Sure there’s a cross-over. We were founded as a nation on Judeo-Christian principles, and concepts of life.
But it’s a nice effort at marginalization going on here by Godless liberal-leftists and their rabid left-wing bureaucratic appointees and media accomplices, isn’t it?
Christians livid as CRTC denies religious radio, but OKs porn TV
2 spots on Ottawa dial to be secular despite groups’ zealous appealsJennifer Green, Ottawa Citizen
Published: Friday, September 05, 2008OTTAWA – The CRTC – the same agency that recently gave two thumbs-up to a homegrown Canadian porn TV network – has nixed two applications for Christian radio stations in the Ottawa area, and that has left some supporters of the religious proposals very unhappy.
Ottawa’s CHRI came to a recent hearing of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission with 780 letters of support for a new FM station that would have played traditional Christian music, hymns and classical music targeting an older audience. Gatineau resident Fiston Kalambay Mutombo also attended the hearing to propose a French-language Christian station.
Only two broadcast slots were available and neither went to the Christian proposals. Instead, Astral Media Corp. got a spot at 99.7 on the dial, with just 77 letters of support for a soft adult music station aimed at older women.

Just a few weeks ago, the CRTC approved Northern Peaks, a porn cable channel based in Alberta, leaving many to wonder about its values as a government regulator.
[Many “Christians”? Or many “Canadians”? —Joel]
But I leave it to a normal Canadian citizen, who said it best:
Ottawa listener David MacDonald, who used to have his own Christian radio program, is more blunt: “It’s really getting tough to be a Christian in a country that was founded on Christian values.
“On Normandy Beach, what you see is a big cross … you don’t see a big dildo.”
Sha—wing.
