As I said Monday, some liberals (and they exist in all parties) want to protect women who choose to abort babies, but don’t wish to protect women who choose to keep their babies.
On Monday I wrote another short blog entry explaining the effort from one MP to help protect both women and their unborn babies who are victims of violent crimes. Strangely—alarmingly—some politicians have drawn a line in the sand over that effort and have fought Mr. Epp’s bill, seemingly in order to express their keen interest in protecting Canada’s abortion laws (or lack thereof) instead of women and babies. In reality, the bill has nothing to do with abortion — and that fact is clearly stated in his bill. Indeed, aside from the fact that it concerns unborn babies, it concerns mothers who have chosen life for their babies —not abortion.
Today Ken Epp, Conservative MP, wrote an article at the National Post defending his bill, and gave us permission to post it here at PTBC.
“Ken Epp, MP: A good bill sacrificed to ideology and political expedience”.
