Obama and McCain tied when Obama should be 25 points ahead

imageEdited

The Obama luvin’ National Post reports a “boost”, today, after very liberal-left Senator Ted Kennedy’s speech at the Dem convention.  What “boost”?

McCain gets Bounce during Obama Convention

The Democratic National Convention has begun and the poll numbers are bouncing, but not in the direction that most people anticipated. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows Barack Obama attracting 44% of the vote while John McCain also earns 44%.

At least two other major pollsters are reporting nearly identical results.  Gallup’s tracking poll reports a 45%-45% tie two days after Joe Biden was chosen as Obama’s VP pick (Most recently: McCain creeps ahead, 46% to 44%), and the latest CNN poll has tied results.

I still anticipate a bounce for Obama through and after the convention, but at this point, with the convention going on, and right after his VP pick, and with all his glaring media and Hollywood and academia and pop-culture backing, and with President Bush’s numbers in the tank and the economy not growing as fast, Obama should be 25 points ahead at this point.

P.S.
Michelle Obama settled a few lingering problems in her big opening speech last night.  For example after telling the nation (twice) during the leadership campaign that she was only just now (now that her hubby was doing well) proud of America for the first time in her adult life and that America is a mean and nasty place and needs to change, she said “… that is why I love this country!”, last night.

So that sure puts that myth to rest.
