According to a study conducted by Friends of Canadian Broadcasting, 89 percent of CBC (Canada’s state-run, overtly liberal-left Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) appointees are affiliated with the governing party which appoints them. The report examines the 152 appointments past Prime Ministers have made to the CBC Board of Directors since 1936.
The report states, "Political patronage at the CBC is so deeply entrenched almost all current CBC Board members have affiliations to the Liberal government."
The also found that at the state-run censor/regulator, the CRTC, which decides what Canadians will be allowed to watch on TV and what Canadians will not be allowed to watch, 87 percent of appointees to the CRTC were affiliated with the governing party.
The study comes on the eve of the end of CBC President Rabinovitchs 5-year appointment.
Like the Soviet Union and North Korea, Cuba, Iran, and until recently Iraq, Canadians may soon find out that state-run media is not something that should be part of their country—their Canada, despite the Liberal Party’s rhetoric to the contrary. Conservatives already realize all this of course, since they are for freedom.
