I imagine the liberals and their media started planning their offensive even before the Throne Speech, knowing that they’re inherently weak on crime. Of course a timely Stats Can report released this morning helped them in some ways too, or at least they think it did.
But the State-run CBC tried the hardest, from what I’ve seen, with their article promoting (as I read it) the fanciful idea that there’s actually no need for a stupid tough-on-crime agenda— crime has gone down over the decades (well, with a possible exception that it went up in 2004 and 2005, but, like, whateva). Quoting the Stats Can report, they naturally added the required (according to the liberal-left media guidebook), ubiquitous comments from the typically Canadian liberal-leftist pro-government-social-program fella. His prescription for Utopian delight: more government social programs. Shocka. (No mention made of this, though. They’re “progressive”!)
CTV.ca only told the tale of the Stats Can report, but supplemented their zeal with a poll, in which I’ll bet you a thousand dollars they hoped would turn out differently—not quite so pro-Harper Conservative agenda-ish. Damn those Canadians. Aren’t they paying attention to our message? As it were.
Poll today on liberalvision CTV’s web site
Watch for many more anti-crimes legislation articles in the liberal media in order to battle back this anti-“progressive” sentiment taking hold across our nation. Oh yeah and vote liberal/voter le libéral.
(Hat tip to Maureen for the poll)
