2004: U.S. economy creates most jobs since 1999

Canadian job numbers followed on the heels of the Amercans’ strongest job growth numbers since 1999, that booming Clinton-era year that all the liberals get so excited about.  Of course those of you in Canadian Liberal Wonderland will claim that the U.S. is in fact following Canada’s lead, because just like the U.S. followed Canada’s lead in providing actual physical aid to the Asian tsunami victims two weeks before Canada did, Canada’s liberal Prime Minister, Paul (“we lead the world”) Martin says Canada leads the world in every which way. 

Confused?  Of course you are.  But this all makes perfectly good sense to a Liberal.

The economy created 157,000 jobs last month, a solid gain that capped the best year for job creation since 1999, the Labor Department reported yesterday.

Last year 2.2 million jobs were created, with growth in nearly every area from the booming construction, health care and education fields to the beleaguered technology and manufacturing sectors. December’s gains mirrored the year-long trend.

The addition of jobs was just enough to keep up with the growth in workers caused by immigration and population growth, holding the unemployment rate steady at 5.4 percent. […]
