I love the choice of the word “controversial” in the headline. Compare with Quebec Frenchman Gilles Duceppe and the Bloc Party and other Canadian politicians’ verbiage and abusive accusations against the innocent hockey player Shane Doan.
Controversial candidate for Liberals quits
Kevin Libin
National PostAn embattled Edmonton Liberal candidate resigned yesterday after it was revealed that he falsified his résumé. Farhan Mujahid Chak, who on March 31 won the Liberal nomination for Edmonton-Mill Woods-Beaumont, had already been called to account by the party for failing to disclose a history of criminal charges and controversial writings. Now, Mr. Chak’s claims to have earned a doctorate degree from England’s Durham University appear to be untrue.
Mr. Chak offered his resignation after discussions with party officials, according to The Canadian Press.
[…] Mr. Chak regularly refers to himself as a “Farhan Chak, PhD,” including on his campaign Web site. During his campaign, he signed letters to the community as “Dr. Farhan Chak.”
What’s “controversial” about that?
