As PTBC readers know, I’ve mused about this forever (see here and here for example): the liberal media constantly calls the Conservative Party “Tories” while always calling the Liberal Party “The Liberal Party”—rather than the “Grits”. I suspect it’s done this way in order to passively confuse the electorate about the Conservatives, while never confusing the electorate about the yummy Liberals. (Of course I always also mention that they still call the you’ve got to be kidding party the “NDP” rather than the “you’ve got to be kidding” party as I do, or the equally accurate “outright far-left socialist moonbat party which shouldn’t even remotely be taken seriously in this country”, say.)
But maybe I’m catching on: When the Liberal Party is being discussed in the context of massive corruption and fraud against our Canada, then they call them the “Grits”, maybe.
Example from today at CTV.ca:
Of course when they talk about the massive Liberal Party adscam sponsorship political corruption scandal, they often refer to it as the “federal sponsorship affair”, so maybe I still haven’t figured it out.
