And we all know how leftists hate the competition. It’s against their religion!
Lately I’ve been watching with amusement how the media is invoking—in a serious manner(!)—that which I’ve been doing in seriously mocking sarcastic tones for some time: comparisons between the envirohysteria, um, crusade, and its stars —to a “religion” and religious icons. I’ve been mockingly calling the likes of zoologist David Suzuki “the Prophet Suzuki” for some time.
I was joking, actually.
Not so the liberal media.
Over the weekend, the National Post “reviewed a book” (I put that in quotes on purpose—the “review” was on their front page, no less, posing as a “news” article, which the liberal “news” media often does, complete with a huge picture of Al Gore as Our Lord and Savior) directly comparing the movement with Christianity (managing to somehow amazingly condescend Christianity—not the envirohysteria movement—as only the liberal media can do with a straight face and with hardly a single person questioning it or complaining).
This huge picture was on the front page
of the National Post over the weekend

Today the great Newsbusters.org blog featured a CBS news worship session starring breathless, hysterical “reporter” and church of liberalism cleric Harry Smith, “reporter”.
Harry Smith turned to Richard Branson and, seemingly attempting to elevate Al Gore to sainthood, inquired:
“You have only known each other about a year or so as I understand it. Is Al Gore a prophet.”
…and he was serious, actually, you see.
Let us pray. To Al Gore, Michael Moore, and Suzuki. And Dion, and Dion’s dog Kyoto.
Then let’s put down the crack pipe and get a grip.
