Liberal Media has jumped the shark: Story headline today invokes the term “Dog-Gate”

imageMaybe it’s like a cry for help.  As if to try to reach out to us and prove that they’re incapable of hiding their lack of objectivity, their anti-Conservative bias, and their lack of balance in their reporting, the liberal media continues to play lapdog to their liberal political masters in Ottawa and kowtow (with an emphasis on cow) to them and continue to parrot their every talking point like the donkeys they are.  Enough animal or zoo references yet?  Apparently not.

But if we look excruciatingly hard, we can find from Hansard, page 44, a forgettable day in 1997 when the Liberal Party was in power ruling over Canada (laundering and scheming to trying to change it into their thing):

Miss Deborah Grey (Beaver River, Ref.): Mr. Speaker, the parliamentary secretary said that the CPP premiums are not a tax but a contribution to a public pension plan. Let us just look for a moment or two at a private pension plan, the MP pension plan, the most obscene in the country.

Canadians are now paying twice as much of their salary for a paltry $9,000 a year in CPP. Thanks to the government, parliamentary porkers like the member for Sherbrooke and the Deputy Prime Minister are going to pocket five to six times that amount. That is scandalous.

How can the Prime Minister justify asking Canadians to pay 70 per cent more of their meagre pensions when he and his Liberal colleagues are just going to lap up the lavish MP pension plan?

An hon. member: There is more than a slab of bacon talking there.

Hon. Marcel Massé (President of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for Infrastructure, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, the hon. member is mixing up two things; one has nothing to do with the other.

In making the Canada pension plan fund able to meet its future obligations, the government with the provinces is making sure that the plan is sustainable. In terms of the members of Parliament pension plan, we reduced it by 20 per cent and reduced the cost. We have introduced 55 as the age when it can be collected. Therefore, once again, we have made the plan much more in conformity with the requirements.

Miss Deborah Grey (Beaver River, Ref.): Mr. Speaker, it may be that I am a porker but I opted out of that pension plan and the taxpayer does not owe me one single penny for that.

Some hon. members: Hear, hear.

Miss Grey: A pension porker I am not. I opt out; Sheila copped out.

The Speaker: Colleagues, I know we would all prefer to stay away from personal remarks. I would ask you, my colleague, without further preamble to please put your question.

Miss Grey: Mr. Speaker, I would like to ask the Prime Minister this question. To be consistent, to be fair to all Canadians in this Chamber and outside, will the Prime Minister today announce an immediate 70 per cent increase in the premium for the potlicker MP pension plan?

Hon. Marcel Massé (President of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for Infrastructure, Lib.): Mr. Speaker, I…

The unnamed “honorable member” was defense minister Doug Young, Liberal.  But nobody cared.

You see the point is, nobody even cared.  Not the great Miss Grey, Reform Party MP, not the leader of the Reform Party Mr. Manning (who according to his book said these exact words to her privately: “Don’t pay any attention to him, Deb. He’s just a Liberal jackass”).  Nobody cared much, certainly not the liberal media.

Today with the Conservatives in power and someone who is now a Liberal the alleged target of an alleged joke—nothing but an alleged joke—the media is already on week two of giant, over inflated (even for them) wall-to-wall bloviated story-writing about it and in reality, it is nothing short of a complete and utter unorganized smear campaign and pile-on against the Conservatives.

One liberal media source, Bruce Cheadle of Canadian Press, took to calling it “Dog-Gate” today, and that’s when they jumped the shark

imageI don’t believe they called the Liberal Party’s adscam sponsorship corruption—among the biggest if not the biggest corruption scandal to have ever occurred in this nation’s history —“Liberal Party Corruption-Gate”.

There are many, many examples just like this, but back in 2004, liberal media reporter and anchor at CTV Jane Taber wrote that MP Judy Wasylycia-Leis (of the you’ve got to be kidding party) said this about Conservatives generally when asked about Belinda Stronach:

“She seemed quite strong. . . . She sounds like she’s got a bit of an understanding to the barriers to women and she could help change some of that right-wing Neanderthal thinking.”

Nobody questioned the abhorrent and abject bigotry of a sitting Member of Parliament smearing all Conservatives as “Neanderthals”.  Nor was the irony cited by the then apparently much more tolerant Ms. Taber.

Ms. Taber herself is accused by one of our own readers who wrote her to ask her if she really thought it was all right to allegedly say, on national television, on October 20 2006, something to the effect that that there is too much testosterone in the House of Commons.  The reader also notes that Supreme Court Justice Beverley McLachlin allegedly remarked, once, that the Supreme Court of Canada would be a better place without so many white males

I keep bringing it up but nobody—nobody—in the liberal media wants to follow-up on the fact that the former (failed) extreme-left-wing mayor of Vancouver, Larry Campbell, during the 2004 federal election, pulled a “Buzz Hargrove” and supported the Liberals (as opposed to the you’ve got to be kidding party or the party I thought he’d support, the Communist Party of Canada);  and after making that “anybody but the Conservatives” stance clear, while mayor, he attended a mayor’s meeting and was interviewed on national radio, and saw fit to call all Conservatives “barbarians”.  That’s me and my wife and many of you readers:  “barbarians”.  For his service to the liberal-left cause, Campbell was appointed to the Senate (to sit as a Liberal Party Senator) by Paul Martin, Liberal.

Nonetheless, I expect of the liberal-left to feign such outrage and to make complete hypocritical idiots of themselves because it happens repeatedly, constantly, but let’s also just sit back and enjoy the liberal media rats as they continue to make giant asses of themselves as well.  It’s all going to help continue to diminish all their credibility even more.

(Hat tip to Linda for the pork)
