“Big cost for ethics czar’s exit”
That’s what the scary headline says. No word on what it costs a country to not clean up corrupt governments rife with liberal-left fundamentalist anti-conservative patronage appointments. Mmmmbut anyway, here we go again with that moniker. “Ethics”. “Czar”.
Hi how are ya. I’m a blogger “Czar”. Later I’m going to the store in my car “Czar”. Ta-ta.
Canadian taxpayers could be on the hook for $1 million or more for the Conservative government’s decision to oust the ethics czar.
To oust the “ethics” “czar”, huh? Sounds cheap when considering he’s incompetent and was hired by Liberals seemingly on the basis that he hates conservatives.
Treasury Board President John Baird has signalled that Bernard Shapiro’s days are numbered as Canada’s ethics commissioner, insisting the government intends to replace him with someone who has a judicial background when the new Federal Accountability Act is passed.
Gosh. Hire someone qualified? Crazy.
Shapiro hauls in between $253,000 and $298,000 a year, plus benefits and perks, and his five-year contract does not expire until May 17, 2009. Hali Gernon, a spokesman for the Privy Council Office, could not say exactly what compensation Shapiro would be entitled to, maintaining that terminations are handled on a “case-by-case basis.”
That contrasts nicely with what I get paid, which is between $253,000 and $298,000 less than Shapiro, and I’m competent! And my contract is with myself. Too bad the Liberals volunteered to pay that fella a quarter-mill per year plus benefits and a contract that doesn’t allow him to be fired for total abject incompetence.
And let’s see: on a “case-by-case basis”, I would get bugger-all from the taxpayer or even blog readers if I were to abide by the wishes of so many liberals, and: quit blogging, turn off this web site, and move to Texas, as so many of them demand I do, with my family.
Unfortunately, they can kiss my
Cleaning up bad, corrupt governments is an extremely expensive thing. That’s why you really shouldn’t let your government become corrupt any more now that we’ve trying to launch into a nice clean start with a nice clean accountable morally correct ethical Conservative government. But of course not cleaning it up is even more expensive. Thank you.
