Quebec Day Care Workers Reject Contract Offer

Monday, March 27, 2006Quebec day-care workers have rejected the government’s latest contract proposal.
Close to eight-thousand day-care workers are now expected to start showing up for work two hours later than normal.
For the past two weeks, unionized day-care workers have been showing up for work one hour later than usual.
The union says it won’t hesitate to launch an unlimited general strike if the two sides don’t make any progress in talks over the next two weeks.
Pay equity is the main issue in the negotiations
