“She’s done this several times. This is serial stupidity”

Canadian Federation of Independent Business president Catherine Swift is our new hero, and wins our award for the best quotable quote of the week—maybe even the month, for voicing her outrage at the genius Liberals in Ottawa and the likes of Carolyn Parrish and her anti-American bigotry and saying:

“She’s done this several times. This is serial stupidity”

I love that line.

Are business people the only people harmed by asinine Liberals’ remarks?  No, all Canadians are, but they’re among the few who have at least spoken out against her and the asinine arrogant Liberals.

How about a few liberals speaking out?  Or do you all condone Carolyn Parrish’s remarks and applaud her?  Mind you, don’t get the idea that this is an open invitation to join this board to do that—I’d just like to see some public evidence that liberals don’t agree with Carolyn Parrish and Barbara Yaffe and others like them.

Business wants Parrish kicked out of caucus

…Canada’s top business leaders have accused Paul Martin of failing to show leadership and called on him to kick her out of caucus.

The Mississauga MP continued her year-long tirade against U.S. President George W. Bush Wednesday night by lashing out against him and the American people who returned him to office, despite a warning earlier in the day from the Prime Minister to refrain from making critical comments about the re-elected Bush administration.

Ms. Parrish, who earlier this fall referred to Mr. Bush and those who back the U.S. missile defence plan as a “coalition of the idiots,” said on Wednesday she was “dumbfounded” by the American people’s choice for President because he is a “war-like man.” She also said American voters are “completely out of step with most of the free world” for electing such a person. Last year, she referred to the Bush administration as American “bastards.”

President of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives Thomas d’Aquino accused Mr. Martin of failing to show leadership by repeatedly allowing Ms. Parrish to say what she likes without any consequences.

Canadian Federation of Independent Business president Catherine Swift said it is “highly irresponsible for an elected official to say things that are so clearly detrimental to our interests as a country.”

She said Mr. Martin has failed to keep his promise that he would do better than his predecessor, Jean Chretien, on improving Canada-U.S. relations. “He’s put a pretty big emphasis on improving Canada-U.S. relations—or at least said he’s going to. Wouldn’t this be a clearer signal that he means what he says … [to] put her out of caucus. She’s done this several times. This is serial stupidity,” said Ms. Swift.

Conservative leader Stephen Harper also took Mr. Martin to task in the Commons demanding he remove Ms. Parrish from caucus and accusing him of allowing her to get away with insulting the Americans.

Apparently Martin agrees with Carolyn Parrish, since he’s chosen to keep her on board—in the Liberal fold.  I suspect all liberals agree with Parrish and Yaffe and their ilk.
