Our Columnists in past couple days… Oct 13-14

In our Columnist section since I last mentioned it on Wednesday….

Ann Coulter, who coined a new term this week (she’s a “gyno-American”—didja know that?) is still trying to convince some conservatives that it’s really not about U.S. Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers’ “conservativeness”, or even how nice she might be, although that may be a consideration.  It’s about her qualifications.  And truth be known, I think she’s really ticked that she, as a stellar conservative and a leading mouthpiece for the good right, has to sit there and spend her time explaining this to America.  Here’s a snippet:

[…] Contrary to the Bush administration’s disingenuous arguments, it’s not simply that Miers did not attend a top law school that makes her unqualified for the Supreme Court. (But that’s a good start!) It’s that she did not go on to rack up any major accomplishments since then, either.

Despite the astonishing fact that Miers was THE FIRST WOMAN to head the Texas Bar Association — a dumping ground for losers, by the way — Miers has not had the sort of legal career that shouts out “Supreme Court material”! That is, unless you think any female who manages to pass the bar exam has achieved a feat of unparalleled brilliance for her gender. […]

Mike Adams wrote one about the unmitigated idiocy of the left.  Actually, he’s already written two columns this week with another coming tomorrow.  He an unmitigated non-idiot.  Here’s a snippet from his Colleges to avoid, Part I.  It’s funny and amazing at the same time.  It’s academia.  It’s the liberal-lefty-world that Canadians understand oh-so-well.

[…] Recently, a student at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont informed me that his school was planning to put on a formal dance until a liberal student decided that he or she (or perhaps “it”) didn’t like the theme “Black and White.” Of course, most normal people understand that, in this particular context, “black and white” means that it is an event requiring formal attire. Of course, that might be heterosexist in the minds of gay students who want to wear pink tuxedos or dresses depending upon their actual or perceived gender at the time of the dance.

But, of course, at Champlain College when just one student says the dance theme has something to do with inherent racism, there can be no dance for any student. I call this the tyranny of the minority. Some just call it unmitigated idiocy. […]

Anthony Oluwatoyin writes about the Supreme Court’s ruling that paves the way for the British Columbia government to sue the tobacco companies.

You probably have it committed to memory by now, and without any effort on your part. I speak of the best piece of gross, crossover propaganda since that porn film classic with that actress who used to be on the Ivory Snow box ads.

Here it is: “Tobacco is the only product, available legally, which, if you use it exactly as the manufacturer intended, will kill you.”  […]

Steve Milloy rightly pounds the New York Times and others for their unmitigated nonsense, which most of us with an ounce of common sense are finding it easier and easier to do these days with that bible of liberalism.  What Arctic Warming? is his column’s title, and it’s chilling.

image

The New York Times appeared to try a new tactic in its campaign to convince the public that global warming is real. But don’t let the Times’ Oct. 10 report on the economic upside of Arctic melting confuse you—there still isn’t any evidence that human activity is melting the polar regions.

All in the Columnists section.
