Arrogant treasonous Liberal politicians shift blame for subs

Not surprisingly, Canada’s arrogant, treasonous, Liberal politicians are trying their hardest to shift blame for the latest military disaster resulting from military equipment that is complete junk, this time the recent submarine disaster, to the people who burned in the submarines and their leaders.

It was their fault, our liberal Prime Minister says, for “asking for” this used junk equipment.  They wanted it and the benevolent liberal leader and his noble cabinet simply acquiesced—gave them what they asked for—he would have us idiot citizens believe.

And what’s even more frightening and disheartening is that so many Canadians—certainly all liberals and all those on the liberal-left anyway—agree wholeheartedly with their benevolent leader.  What’s a few dead men and women and a weakened nation when there’s a new universal state-run children’s daycare secretariat on the way to plug Canada’s children into and make parents’ lives more convenient and save them from having to bother with the whole “raising your own damn family” nonsense and instead letting the state raise them?

Relations between Canada’s military and the government have been shaken because political leaders are trying to shift blame for the Chicoutimi submarine tragedy to the navy, say defence analysts and some officers.

Over the last several weeks, Defence Minister Bill Graham and Prime Minister Paul Martin have been seen by those in military circles to distance themselves from the incident by suggesting navy brass demanded the purchase of the second-hand British submarines and had assured the government the vessels were safe.

Mr. Martin, in cabinet at the time the submarine deal was approved, continues to say the second-hand subs were the vessels the navy wanted. “The navy feel very, very strongly that these subs are what they need,” he has said.

“We have always been advised by the naval staff that they are capable of managing these problems and that these were the best submarines they could get for the purposes they wanted them,” Mr. Graham has added in the Commons. “These (subs) are therefore what the navy wanted.”

Oh yes.  I’m just so sure the Canadian Navy wanted—preferred—to buy used pieces of junk to defend Canada and its interests abroad.  They wouldn’t rather have had modern new nuclear-powered subs—not to mention up-to-date ships and planes and so on—no, they seek crappy equipment for their service men and women.  It’s a risk they’re willing to take.  Right.

Liberals are liars who will say anything to get re-elected and get more Canadians hooked on social programs to ensure their continued push toward socialism in Canada.  Even if it means people will die and Canada will weaken further in the process—in fact the weaker the better—because when weak, one feels the warm hug of government programs all the more inviting at election time.

Privately, military officers say they are dismayed, but not surprised, by the politicians’ attempts to distance themselves from any fallout. Some have compared the last few weeks to the Somalia affair, when Conservative and Liberal governments blamed the military leadership for the ill-fated mission in that African country.

Military analyst Rob Huebert says the continual suggestions by the prime minister and defence minister that it was the navy leadership who approved the purchase of the subs are disturbing. He said cabinet has the ultimate responsibility for the purchase and safety of the submarines, despite what the politicians are saying.

“What they’re doing is an abdication of political responsibility,” said Mr. Huebert of the University of Calgary’s Centre for Military and Strategic Studies. “I find it revolting. They all see that as a means of covering their butts.”

Military insiders say they would have preferred new submarines, but knew that the British deal was the best they were going to get from the government.

Suggestions by politicians that the navy begged for the used vessels are farcical, military insiders say.

Never mind all that though—what the Liberal government politicians say is what matters.

They’re so arrogant and treasonous it makes my skin crawl.
