Ujjal Dosanjh to be probed by Law Society for breach of conduct

The main point here is that the Health Minister is being probed by the Law Society for possible criminal breaches and possible breaches of proper conduct when he allegedly tried to bribe a Conservative member to cross the floor to the Liberals. 

But:

The Law Society is going to investigate a minister of the crown—the federal Health Minister, a lawyer named Ujjal Dosanjh, former Attorney General and Premier of BC (before he was wooed way rightward from the extreme left NDP all the way over to the left by the Liberals), and the multi-million-dollar taxpayer-funded state-run CBC.CA news media web site doesn’t see fit to mention that?  This isn’t important?

I found the story on a free enterprise web site—part of the very good free-market capitalist Sun Media group of papers, owned by private citizens: the Winnipeg Sun.  Apparently they do a far better job of covering the news, begging the question yet again because it has never been answered to my satisfaction:  why do we need the CBC at all?  They clearly can’t do a good job of covering the news if they leave this out.  They’re clearly unreliable.

Probe to view Dosanjh role

The British Columbia Law Society has assigned a special investigator to probe a complaint filed by Tory MP John Reynolds about the role of Health Minister Ujjal Dosanjh in the Gurmant Grewal taping case.

“As your complaint concerns a life bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia, I have assigned the investigation to outside counsel, Jean Whittow,” said Stuart Cameron, the society’s director of professional regulation in a letter dated June 17.

Reynolds filed complaints to the B.C. Law Society and the Law Society of Upper Canada on June 13, calling on the bodies to launch investigations into the actions of Dosanjh and Prime Minister Paul Martin’s chief of staff, Tim Murphy—who also had several meetings with Grewal. Reynolds claims the Martin and Dosanjh broke the law under the Criminal Code, and the rules of professional conduct of the law society.  […]
