Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly has fired a lawsuit at an associate producer of his show and her lawyer, alleging they threatened him with a high profile sexual harassment case—just in time for election season—unless he and Fox paid $60 million in “hush money”. Turns out her lawyer is none other than a Democratic Party supporter and financial contributor.
From O’Reilly’s legal papers:
“It is apparent that Defendants’ outrageous monetary demand is motivated by their greed and also by Morelli’s political connections. Morelli, his firm, and his wife, Arlene, are known supporters of and contributors to the Democratic Party, contributing to the campaigns of U.S. Senators John Kerry, John Edwards, Tom Daschle, and Charles Schumer, among others.”
The defendent only demanded $60 MILLION DOLLARS in hush money though, so it’s OK.
O’Reilly has now written a statement
about this.
