Panel finds White House blocks scientific data; lied re extent of BP oil spill; nobody reports story

The Seattle Times, rather surprisingly, reports it on their front page, by-lining it with a reference to the New York Times (also known as the Obama-mania media bible and liberal media journalist’s guidebook), and yet the New York Times has no story on their front page.  It finally makes a quiet appearance on PAGE 20.

Page 20!  Let’s let that ooze through our minds for a while. 

Media burying  --  or not even covering  --  the story

OK now let’s play our little game, shall we? Imagine if it were the Bush administration  (—or any Republican — it matters not one whit).  Where would the placement of this story be over at the New York Times?  Hmmm!  That’s a toughy! 

And for you Canadians playing at home:  Try to find the story in the Canadian news at all!

The White House blocked efforts by federal scientists to tell the public just how bad the Gulf oil spill could have been, according to a panel appointed by President Barack Obama to investigate the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history.

In documents released Wednesday, the national oil spill commission’s staff reveals that in late April or early May the White House budget office denied a request from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to make public the worst-case discharge from the blown-out well.
