…Which leads me and other sensible people in North America to constantly wonder: why in tarnation do people ever — ever — and repeatedly — over and over again — as if never having learned anything, ever — vote for socialist and other progressive parties like the you’ve got to be kidding party? The far-left NDP promise to — has to — raise taxes because it is their well-advertised political agenda to redistribute wealth, to grow government even more (with no exit strategy whatsoever), and, as government, take over the care and control and responsibility from the family and each and every individual citizen. They’re socialists, they’re progressives; this is what they do.; What part of this do people not understand?
Nova Scotia’s Chronicle-Herald newspaper says, regarding their socialist government’s upcoming budget, “The finance minister has hinted that an increase in the HST is under consideration.” Their own government-appointed “economic panel” (translation from the socialist: hold on to your wallet) suggested “…government should consider raising income taxes and increasing the harmonized sales tax by two percentage points…”. Which of course is ever so shocking.
So the Chronicle-Herald, which trumpets the talking points of liberals and leftists all day long, instead of debasing them and questioning the rationale of voters and the sanity supposedly contained therein, as they should, conducted a poll of their readers.
They don’t want to pay more taxes, and yet they vote for left-wing parties. It’s like they’re all crazy.
But who cares about polls?! Assuming Barack Obama is their mystic or model or idol or icon or guru, it looks like raising the tax is exactly what the NDP will do.
Hat tip to Cameron C. for the poll heads-up
