The other night, I made a big mistake. I accidentally scratched one of my Browning gun cases. I could have used some touch-up paint to fix it but I decided that would be too easy. Instead, I just bought another one. It looks great except for the fact that it’s empty. That means it’s time to expand my gun collection.
First and foremost, I want to get a new weapon for personal protection while I’m in my car. For years, I’ve been carrying a Smith and Wesson Model 640 in my center console. I’ve been loading it with 145-grain Winchester silver tips for extra consolation. But, now, I’ve decided to start carrying a Springfield 45 with two 13-round clips in the console. I’m doing it largely because my friend Chris Rowe just bought one. I can’t let Chris collect more guns than I have so I’ll buy that Springfield immediately. I also have some concern that I won’t be prepared for the upcoming turkey season. My sore left shoulder is acting up again so I might not feel comfortable getting caught in the woods armed only with my Benelli Nova 12-gauge pump shotgun. It has a heck of a kick so I’ll probably have to purchase a new Benelli Super Black Eagle II Steady Grip (good for recoil reduction) with a 24-inch barrel and 3 ?-inch chambering. The semi-automatic shotgun can unleash a payload of ammunition faster than Marion Berry can empty a crack pipe. Needless to say, I have plenty of room to get something chambered in 45 Long Colt for an adequate back-up home defense weapon. From now on, my Remington 870 Express Magnum HD (in 12-gauge) will be lying right beside a Taurus Raging Bull. That new Taurus will come in handy when I visit Nantahala, North Carolina where some friends of mine have just purchased a new mountain cabin. When we have our monthly militia meetings (like all good conservative do) we are bound to see an occasional black bear in the vicinity.
The 454 Casull round manufactured by Hornady (see http://www.hornady.com/) can also be used in my new Taurus for the purpose of making those black bear kills. Although we are opposed to affirmative action, each member of my militia will do all he can to kill an equal proportion of white bear — that is if any should show up in Western North Carolina. The ever-expanding gun collection will require a lot of time at the gun range to keep my shooting skills honed. So, I guess that means I have to buy a good skeet gun. And since I don’t yet have a Browning on this list, the new Cynergy Camo in Mossy Oak Break-Up is a rather obvious choice. Naturally, I will get the new 12-gauge version with the capability of taking 3 ? – inch shells. Some people may think the MSRP of $2282 is a little much but I have connections. Every time I substantially update my gun collection, I make sure to add at least one gun that has no specific purpose. The sole criterion for the one useless addition to the collection is that it’s pretty. This year, several contenders have emerged. For instance:

Mike S. Adams was born in Columbus, Mississippi on October 30, 1964. While a student at Clear Lake High School in Houston, TX, his team won the state 5A soccer championship. Mike Adams graduated from C.L.H.S. in 1983 with a 1.8 GPA. Mike Adams was ranked 734 among a class of 740, largely as a result of flunking English all four years of high school. After obtaining an Associate's degree in psychology from San Jacinto College, Mike Adams moved on to Mississippi State University where he joined the Sigma Chi Fraternity. While living in the fraternity house, his GPA rose to 3.4, allowing him to finish his B.A., and then to pursue a Master's in Psychology. In 1990, Mike Adams turned down a chance to pursue a PhD in psychology from the University of Georgia, opting instead to remain at Mississippi State to study Sociology/Criminology. This decision was made entirely on the basis of his reluctance to quit his night job as member of a musical duo. Playing music in bars and at fraternity parties and weddings financed his education. Mike Adams also played for free beer.

Upon getting his doctorate in 1993, Adams, then an atheist and a Democrat, was hired by UNC-Wilmington to teach in the criminal justice program. A few years later, Adams abandoned his atheism and also became a Republican. He also nearly abandoned teaching when he took a one-year leave of absence to study law at UNC-Chapel Hill in 1998. After returning to teach at UNC-Wilmington, Adams won the Faculty Member of the Year award (issued by the Office of the Dean of Students) for the second time in 2000.

After his involvement in a well publicized free speech controversy in the wake of the 911 terror attacks, Adams became a vocal critic of the diversity movement in academia. After making appearances on shows like Hannity and Colmes, the O'Reilly Factor, and Scarborough Country, Adams was asked to write a column for Townhall.com.

Today Mike Adams enjoys the privilege of expressing himself both as a teacher and a writer. Mike Adams is also an avid hunter and reader of classic literature. Mike Adams published his first book, Welcome to the Ivory Tower of Babel, in 2004. His second book, Feminists Say the Darndest Things: A Politically Incorrect Professor Confronts "Womyn" On Campus, was published in 2008.
